Update - Alexis' room

Many renovation projects have transpired since the last post in September. I'll try to recap them all here and you can check out pictures in our flickr photo album here.

The last post showed the kids painting Alexis' room. That project took a big detour. A little background info: Our house in Bergenfield had natural gas and the folks who bought the house did not want to purchase our washer and dryer so we took them with us when we moved. Our new house does not have natural gas and there was a washer and dryer already connected in the basement so we did not bother connecting our washer and dryer from the old house. Very soon after taking those pictures of the kids painting Jennie had an incident in the basement with some local wildlife. If you asked Jen, there was a mouse the size of a cat that jumped at her and tried to eat her. In reality, it was a dead baby mouse no bigger than an adult's thumb in the slop sink in the basement. Never-the-less, Jennie's days of going into the basement alone were over (for now). To make matters worse, the existing dryer stopped working.

We decided to turn Alexis' room into the laundry. All it required was a little bit of plumbing work and a conversion kit so our dryer from NJ would operate using propane, which our hot water heater already used. The much added bonus to relocating the laundry is that it is now on the second floor - the same as our bedrooms. No more lugging laundry baskets up and down two flights of stairs.

Alexis has been relocated and now shares a room with Thomas.
